Drum Circles

A drum circle is a group of people who gather to create music together with percussion instruments. Most improvisational circles require no experience, just a desire to be creative and play with rhythm, and are a great introduction to hand drumming for people who have never drummed before.

Drum circles presented by Spirit Foli range from lightly facilitated circles open to all levels and all types of hand drums and percussion intruments with a focus on creative expression, to more structured instructional circles with a specific cultural focus.

Chant Circles

Rhythmic chant is a powerful vehicle for creating a deep connection with Spirit. This may be why just about every religion practiced since the beginning of time has used some form of chant.

Repeating simple phrases and melodies can induce a deep state of relaxation quickly and easily. If you have tried other methods of meditation and found you had trouble clearing your mind and settling down, rhythmic chant may be more effective for you. In addition to the spiritual benefits of chant, there are positive effects on health as well. Articles published by the National Institutes of Health state that chanting can reduce pain, produce relaxation, and lower blood pressure.

Spirit Foli is available to facilitate circles presenting various chants and mantras from different spiritual traditions and chants of Universal Spirit, and for combination drum and chant circles.
